How to fix hytale server connection issues

In this tutorial we will explain what to do when you are not able to connect your Hytale server. Please note that the game is in early access and some bugs are expected during the first period of the game's launch. We will explain the most common issues.

Server needs to be authenticated (most common issue)

When you run the server for the first time you need to authenticate the server before you are able to connect to it. We automatically show a pop up to authenticate the server when you first start the server. If you are still running into issues, you can also do this manually.

1. Type the following command in the console: /auth login device
2. You will be prompted a popup to authorize the server or you can click the link in the console
3. After successfully authorizing your server you will see a message saying Authentication successful! Mode: OAUTH_DEVICE

You are now able to login!

Not using the correct connection details

On the HytaleHosting panel you will find the IP and Port of your server (shown as something like 111.22.233.444:55555) It is important to copy both the numbers before : and also after. Paste the full IP and port in the Hytale connection popup. You can find the IP and ports at various places:

1. Dashboard, on the server card
2. My servers page
3. On the console page by clicking Show Server Details
